Jannik Sinner’s position at the top of the ATP rankings has been solidified following Alexander Zverev’s recent defeat at the Monte Carlo Masters. Despite being sidelined due to a three-month suspension, Sinner’s lead in the rankings remains unchallenged, ensuring his return to the sport as the world No 1.
Zverev, who had a chance to overtake Sinner, faced an early exit in Monte Carlo after losing to Matteo Berrettini in a closely contested match. This result dashed Zverev’s hopes of claiming the top spot and confirmed Sinner’s continued reign. The Italian, who has already spent 44 weeks as the world No 1, will make his comeback at the Rome Masters in May, where he is expected to resume his dominance on the court.
