Boris Johnson will be the new prime minister of UK. He was selected as the newly appointed leader of the British Conservative Party which meant that he is going to be the new prime minister of Britain. Boris is known to be a jovial person especially when he is playing any of his favourite sports.

BORIS JOHNSON AND TENNIS

The new British PM is known for his love for tennis and he is a good player as well with some good technique but what makes his tennis unique is his jovial mood and facial expressions especially when he is in a long rally with his opponent. He may seem downright funny with some of his very popular facial expressions, but at the same time, he has some seriously good techniques.

Some of his public tennis appearances have received heavy criticism for political reasons especially a match which he played with the wife of an ex-Russian minister. It was alleged that Johnson has taken a donation of ÂŁ160,000 ($200,000) in order to play the match.

In reply, Boris Johnson had said: “It’s very important that we do not allow a miasma of suspicion about all Russians in London – and indeed all rich Russians in London – to be created.”

The match was related to the funding of the Conservative Party by the Russian which was denied by the new prime minister. He had said:

“To the best of my knowledge, all possible checks have been made and they will continue to be made.”

Apart from the above widely popular tennis match he played, he also took part in a wheelchair doubles against the former British PM David Cameron.

His love for tennis is further reflected in the fact that he had once challenged the great Boris Becker. He had said:

“I love tennis with a passion. I challenged Boris Becker to a match once and he said he was up for it but he never called back. I bet I could make him run around.”

Recently when Andy Murray organised a tennis match and invited  Boris Johnson to show his tennis skills, he was quick to accept the offer. He played the match with great technique but his facial expressions as always were funny.

He contorted his face then he balanced on his tip-toes. He also ran around the court and it was a great sight to see his blond hair whipping about in the wind. The match was for ‘rally against cancer’ cause.
