Jakub Mensik, the 19-year-old Czech tennis sensation, shared a remarkable story after his victory at the Miami Open. Mensik revealed that he almost withdrew from the tournament due to a knee injury but credited Alejandro, an ATP physiotherapist, for enabling him to compete.

“One hour before my first match here, I was holding the paper to pull out from the tournament because my knee was hurting a lot,” Mensik said. He explained that Alejandro’s treatment worked wonders, allowing him to step onto the court and eventually claim his first ATP title. Mensik expressed his gratitude, saying, “Because of him, I’m standing here.”

This heartfelt acknowledgment highlights the crucial role of support teams in professional sports. His victory has not only marked a milestone in his career but also showcased the importance of the often-unsung heroes behind the scenes.
