VERY EMOTIONAL. Federer pays tribute to Nadal at his Academy inauguration

Finally, Roger Federer is back to a “tennis related” event, and he does it in style. The Swiss Maestro is the special guest at the opening of the Rafa Nadal Academy. Bringing Roger was a brilliant idea as he was probably the fiercest rival for Rafa, and it shows that you can be in a great relationship with such a formidable rival.



 

I will inspire my comeback. FEDERER

There were many great exchanges between Roger and Rafa. Federer admitted that he will be inspired by Nadal when he will come back to the tour 

“I don’t know how is going to be my comeback, but I can be inspired by you. You have done it million times.” 

Then Roger added 

“I was so hoping that Rafa would pick up the phone, call me, and invite me to his village and be a part of this opening ceremony. Rafa, you’ve been the one that influenced and inspired me the most. I had to reinvent many things in my game thanks to you.”

Rafa was elated with Roger’s presence to comment

“It’s very important for all of us to have you here. You represent the values and example for kids at our Academy. Thank you, Roger, from the bottom of my heart to be here. For me it means everything.”
