18-year-old Ymer trashes Verdasco

Mikael Ymer is a name that will not go unnoticed in the years to come on the ATP tour. The 18-year-old wins his first ATP match in Stockholm after defeating former world no.7 Fernando Verdasco in just 70 minutes.

The teenager had an impressive start of the match to gain a decisive 4-0 lead in the opening set; in the second set. Mikael took off to win four consecutive games after he was leading 2-1. The final result was 6-2 6-1. Ymer is currently ranked no. 549.

Mikael’s brother, Elias, was defeated by Kamke 6-4 6-0

Mikael will now face Ivo Karlovic in the 2nd round.
