Coach Vladimir Platenik was not in Emma Raducanu’s box during her Miami Open match on March 19, 2025. Raducanu began a trial period with Platenik at the Indian Wells Open earlier in March, where he joined her team just before her first-round match.
However, after a disappointing loss to Moyuka Uchijima and only a brief period of collaboration (approximately 14 days), it appears their trial ended before the Miami Open.
During her first-round match against Sayaka Ishii in Miami, which she won 6-2, 6-1, Raducanu was supported by a different team: long-time confidante and coach Jane O’Donoghue, LTA coach Colin Beecher, and fitness trainer Yutaka Nakamura. Platenik’s absence from her box in Miami suggests that their working relationship may have concluded, at least for now, as Raducanu continues to search for a permanent coaching setup.
