Nicolas Jarry grounds Federico Delbonis 6-3 6-2 in the semifinal in Bastad on Saturday after playing a good match to deal with Juan Ignacio Londero in the final.
Score, report, and key facts
1st set.
The set was even with both players refusing to concede anything to the opposition. Eventually, the only discrepancy was one break that the Chilean conquered in the 8th game (5-3) before winning the set (6-3).
2nd set.
Jarry started the set in the best possible way after breaking Delbonis in the 1st game (1-0) before consolidating his break and lead 3-0. Notwithstanding, there was more to do for Jarry to win the set because the Argentine succeeded in breaking back in the 4th (1-3) game. The Chilean kept his cool to break the Argentine in the 7th (5-2) game before managing to win the set (6-2).
At the end of the match, Jarry scored 56 points vs. Delbonis’s 39 points.
The Chilean was effective in converting 67% of the break points that he conquered (4/6). On the other side, Federico was far from perfect in converting his break points because he converted only 25% of his break points (1/4). That was one of the key issues for his demise.
After this match, the head to head between Jarry and Delbonis is 1-0 for Nicolas.
