Maria Sharapova has been blessed by the Court of Arbitration for Sport. The Russian appealed to the Court against the 2-years suspension for doping, and she got a reduction from 2 years to 15 months.
The discount to 15 months seemed to be a little “strategic” because this will help Maria to compete for the entire clay court season. If Maria had her ban reduced to 18 months she would have missed the Roland Garros and Wimbledon in 2017.
One of my happiest days.
After the sentence, Maria commented
“I’ve gone from one of the toughest days of my career last March when I learned about my suspension to now, one of my happiest days, as I found out I can return to tennis in April.”
Still not 100% happy.
Finally, Maria commented
“In so many ways, I feel like something I love was taken away from me, and it will feel really good to have it back. Tennis is my passion, and I have missed it. I am counting the days until I can return to the court.”
DO YOU AGREE WITH THIS REDUCTION? |
LUCKY DECISION |
This is a scam and a scandal. 15 months just to make her play the Roland Garros and Wimbledon.
