Andy Murray is definitely one of the most beloved athletes in Scotland. The world no.2 had a fantastic year so far after he has won Wimbledon, the Olympics, Rome and the ATP500 at Queens. Also, Andy has reached the finals at the Australian Open and the Roland Garros.
After this feat, Murray has been named the Scottish sportsperson of the year by more than 50 Scottish Olympians and Paralympians.

The ceremony took place at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre. Murray commented
“It has been a fantastic season for me winning Wimbledon and retaining my Olympic title, and I am delighted to be awarded the 2016 Scottish sportsperson of the year award for the third time, particularly given all the incredible performances by other Scots this year.”
