Emma Raducanu has decided to make a swift return to tennis after her distressing security scare at the Dubai Tennis Championships. The former US Open champion broke down in tears before a fixated fan was removed from her last match in Dubai. But the British No.2 will now travel to California to play along with her physical trainer Yutaka Nakamura and interim LTA academy coach Tom Welsh.
Raducanu’s search for a new full-time coach is continuing. The BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells – the self-styled fifth Major – will start on Wednesday (March 5). The Bromley-based star is set to be given extra security in the USA by the WTA and tournament organisers. The WTA’s vice-president of security Bob Campbell worked for the secret service for 20 years and helped protect President Bill Clinton. Emma Raducanu reached the third round at Indian Wells last year.

Now the world no.55, Raducanu played her last match on the 18th of February when she lost to world no.15 Karolina Muchova 7-6(6) 6-4 in the 2nd round in Dubai (draw).
Currently, during this season Raducanu owns a composed 3-5 win-loss record.
