Daniil Medvedev, known for his fiery temperament on the tennis court, found himself embroiled in controversy once again during his match against Tallon Griekspoor at the Dubai Tennis Championships. The Russian tennis star accused chair umpire Adel Nour of bias, following a code violation call that Medvedev vehemently disputed.

The incident occurred during a crucial moment in the match, with Medvedev receiving a code violation for unsportsmanlike conduct. Medvedev, visibly frustrated, argued that the umpire’s decision was influenced by prejudice against him. He claimed that the call was unjustified and that similar behavior from other players had gone unpunished.

Medvedev’s outburst included accusations of “Russophobia,” suggesting that the umpire’s decision was motivated by bias against Russian players.

The umpire was mad. “Don’t say something like this. Daniil, I’m very fair! I treat you all exactly the same”.

Eventually, Medvedev lost the match and he refused to shake hands after the encounter with the umpire.
