This month, a Reading business and retail park will host an indoor padel tennis hub. Padel tennis, a combination of squash and tennis that originated in Mexico and is currently played by over 30 million people worldwide, is the specialty of The Padel Hub. This month, the business will open its fifth facility in Reading, adding to its current four locations. It’s a fantastic family sport, according to group club director Allan Curtis. The rallies are fantastic, and the ball is in play most of the time.
Five first-rate indoor courts and a fully furnished on-site gym in collaboration with top specialist Technogym are among the state-of-the-art amenities. When the gym at The Padel Hub opens in Reading in February, it will provide a variety of exercise equipment and lessons. The corporation as a whole embraces the social aspect of padel, establishing a lively community setting with caf and bar sections where players may congregate for socializing before and after games.
Both novices and seasoned players are welcome at The Padel Hub Reading, which provides coaching, group instruction, social gatherings, and the chance to compete in tournaments. Every Monday night, an in-house teaching staff leads a free Intro to Padel session for total novices who want to try padel for the first time. An all-inclusive approach is provided by membership packages, which cover the player’s portion of the court price, early access to court reservations, gym access, and planned mix-ins. Additionally, players have the option to pay to play. On Monday, February 24, courts will be available for reservations via the Playtonic app.
The business has applied to offer alcohol from a cafe area prior to opening. The Padel Hub has submitted an application to provide alcohol Monday through Saturday from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. and on Sundays from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. “We’re not trying to be a bar or a pub,” Mr. Curtis explained while describing the application, adding that the cafe is for our members and guests starting at noon and running roughly until 10.30 p.m. Challenge 25, trained personnel with age verification skills, a designated premises supervisor, and CCTV will all be present. This is a typical setup; we serve alcohol, but not in the large quantities that a pub would, and we have a decent assortment of wine, beer, and ciders. It feels far more like a members’ club than a pub.
After starting in Slough in 2023, the Padel Hub has expanded to Crawley, Whetstone, North London, and Epsom. Later this year, the business plans to launch a sixth site in Fleet. Unit 4 Kenavon Drive, Forbury Business Park, Reading, RG1 3DH is the address of the Padel Hub Reading. Weekdays from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM, Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM, and Sundays from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM are the hours of operation.
The Padel Hub Reading, which offers first-rate facilities and a friendly community setting, is poised to develop into a center for padel tennis fans. There is something for everyone at this innovative new location, regardless of your level of experience.
