Rafael Nadal and Marc Lopez win the doubles in New Delhi to give to their team a decisive 3-0 lead. The gold medalists didn’t start very well their match against Myneni and Paes to lose the first set 6-4. Then, the Spanish team regrouped to win the second set at the breaker before winning the encounter 4-6 7-6 (2) 6-4 6-4.

After the match, Rafa commented
“For us, it was very important after two years being away from the World Group. It’s important for us to come back to where we think we have to be. But the Indian team is a great team, and I want to say many thanks to all the fans here in India. For me, it is a very special country, and it is a place that is very close to my heart.”
Nadal didn’t play the first singles because he was feeling some pain in his wrist. Fortunately, the Spaniard was fit to play doubles. Now the European indoor season is waiting.
