Serena Williams is not only one of the best tennis players in tennis history, but she is also a devoted mom.
The American sensation had an extremely complicated pregnancy a couple of years ago to even risk her life before giving birth to her wonderful daughter Alexis Olympia. Serena is also pretty aware of the difficulties in combining her role as a mom with being a tennis champion. The former world no.1 admitted that she is struggling when she is spending time on court while “neglecting” her daughter. However, she is also aware that working hard is the only solution if she wants to get back at the very top.
How Serena Williams will help moms
Serena and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban invested together $3 million in Mahmee that is a startup with the goal “to coordinate comprehensive prenatal and postpartum healthcare.”
Mahmee co-founder Melissa Hanna revealed to Tech Crunch what they intend to do to comment:
“We’re so focused on delivering a healthy baby that mom gets sidelined. And this industry is lacking the IT infrastructure needed to connect these professionals from different organizations to each other, and to follow and monitor patients across practices and health systems. This missing element creates gaps in care.
Mahmee is the glue that connects the care ecosystem and closes the gaps.”
Great initiative.
