Andreas Seppi has expressed interest in coaching Jannik Sinner but admitted that now is not the right time due to family commitments.
With Darren Cahill set to step away from coaching at the end of the season, questions remain about whether Sinner will seek a replacement or continue working solely with Simone Vagnozzi. Seppi, a former world No. 18 and fellow Italian, acknowledged a symbolic handover between them as he retired while Sinner rose to the top.
“If there was a chance, how could you say no?” Seppi said. “However, right now, between family and children, I don’t think it’s the right time. Following him around the world would be demanding, but in a few years, I would happily train him.”
Seppi also weighed in on Andy Murray’s recent comments that playing is more difficult than coaching. Agreeing with the former world No. 1, he noted that despite outside advice, the player ultimately makes the decisions on the court and is responsible for handling pressure alone.
