Sascha Zverev back to training after a disappointing Wimbledon

Sascha is looking forward to improving his results in the second part of the season

Sascha Zverev back to training

Sascha Zverev is back on track to try to steady the ship after a rather disappointing season. The German sensation won the ATP Finals last year after beating Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer back to back to make a strong statement. Many thought he would have been the player to watch in 2019, but so far he didn’t really show up.

In this season, Sascha has won just 1 ATP250 in Geneva and he reached the final in Acapulco. Zverev’s stint on grass was a disaster with the German crashing out in the first round in both Stuttgart and Wimbledon alongside losing in the quarters in Halle.

The German ha been struggling with personal issues such as the lawsuit against his former agent and a troubled relationship with his girlfriend Olga Sharypova.

Sascha is still ranked no.5, but he is the world no.10 in the Year to Date rankings. He will try to bounce back starting from Montreal (5th of August), and in the meantime, he is building some fitness at home in Monte Carlo. There is a lot to run!
