Andy Murray and Kei Nishikori will play for a place in the final 4 at the US Open.
Murray
Andy had a fabulous run so far with the exception of the first two sets against Paolo Lorenzi. Besides the match with the Italian, the Brit had no problems in dismissing Rosol, Granollers, and Dimitrov. Murray’s performance was amazing against the Bulgarian to concede only 5 games in the entire match.
Andy is rather upbeat about his chances against the Japanese to comment
“I’ve played well against him in the past, but he likes these conditions. I played a really good match against him when we played a few weeks ago. I’m aware I’ll need to do that again if I want to beat him because he’s one of the best players in the world.”
Nishikori
Kei is not playing at his very best. The Japanese conceded 1 set in each of the first two rounds against Becker, Khachanov, and Mahut. Nishikori was much sharper in the 4th round when he defeated Ivo Karlovic in straight sets.
The head to head
Murray leads Nishikori 7-1. Andy annihilated Kei 1 month ago at the Olympics after winning 6-1 6-4.
The favourite
Murray is definitely the favorite probably in straight sets.
