This is one of the strangest tournaments that Novak Djokovic has played in his illustrious career.
The world no.1 had a huge struggle in the first round when he battled against both Janowicz and a precarious physical condition (problems to his right elbow). After winning the opener in 4 sets, Nole had doubts about his capacity to recover, but eventually he was blessed after his next two opponents retired in the 2nd and 3rd round. Nole got lucky again in the 4th round after defeating Kyle Edmund 6-2 6-1 6-4.

More injury scare
The bad point for Nole is that the world no.1 had to call again the trainer in the third set for the problem affecting his elbow. Djokovic did not to want to elaborate about his problem during the press conference to say ”It was good. Everything was fine.” Later he jokingly added “I needed a little bit of a massage.”
Next vs. Tsonga
Djokovic will play Tsonga in the quarters. The head to head is 15-6 for Nole that has won 11 of their last 12 encounters. The real question mark is the condition of Djokovic’s arm, because if he will struggle he won’t beat the Frenchman.
