Now ranked no.3, Carlos played his last match on the 21^st of January when he surrendered to world no.6 Novak Djokovic 4-6 6-4 6-3 6-4 in the quarter of the Australian Open (draw).

Currently, during this year the Spaniard achieved a composed 4-1 record.

He is also scheduled to play in Rotterdam (ABN AMRO Open)

on the 3rd of February and Doha (Qatar ExxonMobil Open) on the 17th of February.

Ranked no.7, the Russian played his last match on the 16^th of January when he surrendered to world no.80 Learner Tien 6-3 7-6(4) 6-7(8) 1-6 7-6(7) in the 2^nd round of the Australian Open (draw).

This season the Russian has achieved a 1-1 match record.
