Nick Kyrgios is set to make his return to the ATP Tour at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells after undergoing successful knee surgery. The Australian star, who has been out of action since October last year, is aiming for a speedy recovery to compete in the prestigious tournament, which begins on March 8.
Kyrgios’ manager, Daniel Horsfall, confirmed that the surgery to repair a small tear in Kyrgios’ left lateral meniscus was a great success. “We couldn’t have been more pleased with the outcome of it,” Horsfall told Australian newspapers. “Now we will be pushing ahead for a speedy recovery and are aiming to see everyone at Indian Wells.”
The 27-year-old, who reached his first Grand Slam final at Wimbledon last summer, had to withdraw from the inaugural United Cup and the Australian Open due to his knee injury. Despite missing these tournaments, Kyrgios remains optimistic about his return and hopes to recapture the form that saw him notch a 37-10 match record in 2022.
