Madison Keys humorously shared how she had to “force” her husband, Bjorn Fratangelo, into coaching her despite his initial reluctance. Fratangelo, a former world No. 99, has been helping Keys for nearly two years but felt “uncomfortable” telling her what to do. However, Keys convinced him to take on the role, and their partnership paid off as she won her maiden Grand Slam title at the 2025 Australian Open.
The couple, who tied the knot in November 2024 after seven years of dating, celebrated Keys’ dream achievement together. The American star secured her first Major by defeating Aryna Sabalenka in a thrilling final, along with other top-ranked opponents like Iga Swiatek, Elena Rybakina, Elina Svitolina, and Danielle Collins.
Speaking on Good Morning America, Keys reflected on their journey:
“He started helping me about a year and a half, two years ago, and he really didn’t want to. He said he was very uncomfortable with telling me what to do and did not want to do it. I basically had to force him to come with me,” she said.
