SIMONA HALEP. Federer’s words helped me to beat Serena Williams

WIMBLEDON. Federer gave his own advice to Simona Halep to win the final

Simona Halep happy with Federer advice

Simona Halep has just conquered an amazing title in Wimbledon after demolishing Serena Williams 6-2 6-2 in a final that lasted less than 1 hour. The Romanian played probably the best tennis of her life and the American couldn’t do anything else that congratulating her conqueror soon after the final.

How Federer helped Simona Halep

During the press conference following her win over Serena, Simona admitted that she paid attention to something that Roger Federer said about the mental approach that the Romanian had to have ahead of her clash against the American.

When asked about the right attitude that Simona needed to have to beat Serena, Roger commented

“Try to win it, you know. Yeah, I mean, you got to have the winner mentality, don’t you?

It’s not like, I’m happy to be in the finals. It’s Serena, I have no chance. Like this you’re going to lose, that’s for sure. You have to have that winner mentality, that I belong here, I’ve earned my way here, I’ve been playing great.”

Then, Roger added:

“You don’t get to a Wimbledon final playing average, you know. Some people might do that, but normally you’re feeling the ball well. She needs to back herself and enjoy it also. But that comes after when you win.

It’s full-on concentration, not let the moment be too big. The good thing is she’s won a Slam before. She knows how to do it at this point. That’s great.”

What Simona Halep said about Federer’s comment

Simona commented

“I thank him. He is very nice. His words made me happy. Also, I really believe that there is a chance if I listen to him. Because if you listen to him, you get the good things. So I did that.”
