Novak Djokovic wins the opener at the Flushing Meadows, but he doesn’t seem to be the happiest guy in the world.
Nole beats Janowicz 6-3 5-7 6-2 6-1, but he didn’t appear very solid. The word no.1 asked for medical treatment to his right arm early in the match; then Nole conceded a set to Janowicz (now ranked no.247). Finally, the Serb won the match in 4 sets, but both him and his team were not smiling much.
What’s wrong with Nole?
It’s clear that Nole and his entourage know that something is wrong. A few days ago, the world no.1 said he had personal problems, but it’s also clear he is having issues with his body. When he was asked about the medical treatment he received in the first set, he commented
“I don’t think it’s necessary to talk about this now. I’m through. I’m taking it day by day. Let’s keep on moving.”
Djokovic served at almost 25mhp slower than usual. His next opponent will be Vesely, let’s see what he can do.
Q: Why did you have treatment?
Djokovic: ‘It was just for prevention?’
Q: Prevention of what?
Djokovic: ‘My arm’
He ain’t interested.

#Djokovic clearly doesn’t want to talk about his injury on court. Something’s not right still with his wrist/arm tho #usopen

Not overly optimistic about that Djokovic interview. Said he’s taking the injury day by day, but doesn’t think it’s necessary to talk abt it

And Novak Djokovic shook his right arm following one of the service motions after double faulting. Just wonder how bad the injury is.#USOpen

Odd performance & an even odder interview from Novak Djokovic regarding his right arm injury. Very strange. #USOpen https://t.co/HHpOnpWRyD
