Aga has been playing a formidable tennis in New Haven to beat an in-form Kirsten Flipkens 6-1 6-4 in the quarters. The Belgian had an incredible run in the tournament; after she had accessed the draw as a lucky loser, she defeated two solid players such as Belinda Bencic and Caroline Garcia before reaching the quarters.

After the quarter, Radwanska commented “I’m just very happy to make the first semifinal. Especially that it’s a very strong tournament. It means I had a couple of good matches, a couple of good wins.”
Kvitova
Petra had a comfortable run in the quarters against Ekaterina Makarova to win the match 6-3 6-1 in just 1 hour. This is Petra’s 5th consecutive semi in New Haven; the Czech commented “Maybe the court helped me. Maybe, I don’t know; I was ready to battle again. Just knew that I had to be really focusing on each point.”
