Jannik Sinner, the defending champion at the Australian Open, recently shared a surprising detail about his pre-match routine after his victory over Marcos Giron. In an interview with Jim Courier, Sinner revealed that he managed to get a full 10 hours of sleep before facing Giron. This relaxed approach to preparation seems to be working well for him, as he went on to win the match in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4, 6-2.

Sinner’s routine includes a brief nap right before the match as well. “Half an hour before the match, again sleeping,” he said, adding humorously, “But hopefully, I wake up when it counts, no?”. His calm and composed demeanor on the court is well-known, and his ability to stay relaxed and well-rested appears to be a key factor in his success.

After the match, Sinner’s schedule is packed with press duties and recovery activities, including an ice bath. Despite the busy post-match routine, Sinner remains optimistic about his chances in the tournament and is focused on maintaining his high level of play.

As he continues his journey at the Australian Open, fans are eagerly watching to see if Sinner’s unique approach to preparation will help him secure another title.
