Carlos Alcaraz stated that if he wins the Australian Open, the only Grand Slam championship lacking from his already remarkable career, he will undoubtedly get a kangaroo tattoo.
The Spaniard advanced to the fourth round, where he might face British number one Jack Draper, after defeating Nuno Borges of Portugal 6-2 6-4 6-7 (3-7) 6-2. By completing the career Grand Slam, the 21-year-old hopes to become the youngest man to do so.
He talked about it and said: “I will get a kangaroo [tattoo] for sure; that’s my idea. The only thing missing is to lift the trophy here, but it’s definitely the plan if it happens.”
Alcaraz already has tattoos of the date of his 2022 US Open victory, a strawberry to symbolize his two Wimbledon victories, and the Eiffel Tower to symbolize his 2024 French Open victory.
The third seed, who has never advanced past the Melbourne quarterfinals, looked excellent on Friday as he displayed his characteristic dynamic and spirited style of play.
Fans were happy and backed Alcaraz for his Australian Open campaign. One fan wrote: “We are getting this kangaroo tattoo, vamos!!!”

LLWWWWLWWW Currently ranked no.3, Alcaraz achieved a 3-0 match record in 2025. The Spaniard is playing at the Australian Open where he managed to beat the world no.77 Alexander Shevchenko 6-1 7-5 6-1, the world no.65 Yoshihito Nishioka 6-0 6-1 6-4 and the world no.33 Nuno Borges 6-2 6-4 6-7(3) 6-2.
The Spaniard won 17 titles in his career: 5 on hard courts, 8 on clay courts, 1 on indoor courts and 3 on grass courts. (See the list of his titles)
