
At the Rod Laver Arena, Iga Swiatek was jeered during her on-court interview. In the second round, the second seed defeated Rebecca Sramkova of Slovakia 6-0, 6-2 to go to the Melbourne Major Round of 32.
The Pole’s on-court interview with Jelena Dokic did include a brief moment of drama. Dokic asked Swiatek what her favorite coffee order was since he knew she loved coffee. In response, Swiatek said she had discovered better coffee in Sydney than in Melbourne. The stadium was filled with loud jeers when they heard this response.
Swiatek said during her on-court interview: “Oh well, I gotta say in Sydney, I found better coffee shops.”
Fans were amused at Swiatek being booed for saying coffee in Sydney is better than Melbourne. One fan wrote: “And how not to love her.”
Another commented: “C’mon, flat white is not really coffee.”
One weighed in: “She’s honest.”
Another wrote: “You guys need to take her to the best coffee place in Melbourne. She’ll change her tune.”

WLWLLWWLLW Now ranked no.2, Iga has managed to achieve an overall 6-1 match record in 2025. Swiatek is currently competing at the Australian Open where she overcame the world no.50 Katerina Siniakova 6-3 6-4 and the world no.49 Rebecca Sramkova 6-0 6-2.
Iga Swiatek will face the world no.61 Emma Raducanu in the 3rd round. Their actual record is 3-0 for Swiatek.
Iga was the runner-up in Australia (United Cup).
