Score, report, and key facts

1st set.

Halep started the set in the best possible way after breaking Svitolina in the 2nd game (2-0). Nevertheless, that wasn’t sufficient for Simona to win the set as the Ukrainian found the way to break back in the 3rd (1-2) game. Halep maintained her cool to break Elina in the 4th (3-1) and in the 6th (5-1) game before winning the set (6-1).

Svitolina was completely knocked out in the last 4 games of the set (from 2-1 to 6-1).

2nd set.

Simona won the set after she broke Elina in the 7th (4-3) and in the 9th (6-3) game. That was enough for Simona to win the set since she didn’t concede her serve in the rest of the set.

The Ukrainian had no answers in the last 4 games of the set (from 2-3 to 6-3).

After this encounter, the head to head between Halep and Svitolina is 5-4 for Simona.
