Elina Svitolina has finally reached a slam semifinal in Wimbledon after beating an inspired Karolina Muchova in the quarters. Her boyfriend Gael Monfils seems to be rather excited with this achievement to be unable to contain his “inner Gael.”

Elina and Gael are an item at least for the last 7 months as they went public on social media on the occasion of the Australian Open after opening a joint Instagram account (GEMS life).
However, by the beginning of June, the account was frozen prompting some speculations about a possible break-up. Yet, the fans were delighted after the account resurfaced just before Wimbledon and Elina and Gael were seen in public during an event in London.
The Frenchman crashed out in the 1st round in Wimbledon after he lost to his compatriot Ugo Humbert as Gael had to retire because of injury. However, Monfils decided to stay in Wimbledon to assist the magnificent run of his girlfriend.

Elina will face Simona for the 9th time in their career, and the head to head is 4-4. This will be the first time that they will face each other on grass.
This run in Wimbledon is pretty special for Svitolina that in 2018 lost in the very first round to Tajana Maria.
