Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner were seen sharing a court during an impromptu practice session at the Australian Open because rain disrupted the tournament schedule. Players created a distinctive and collaborative training environment by switching to indoor courts when the rain forced them to stop playing outside.
On Day 1 of the 2025 Australian Open, weather-related delays caused many matches to be suspended and resume much later than planned, disrupting the morning session. Notably, because of the rain delays, Leylah Fernandez reported that her match lasted almost nine hours.
Nonetheless, the weather did produce a unique sight: Sinner and Alcaraz, the Grand Slam champions from the previous year, were spotted training together. An image of the rare event was posted on social media by the official Australian Open account.
