Martina Navratilova has strongly criticized the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) in light of its appeal regarding Jannik Sinner’s doping case. Speaking out, the tennis icon expressed her dissatisfaction with the system, calling it flawed and in need of a complete overhaul. Navratilova noted the scrutiny WADA faces after previous controversies, including those involving Chinese swimmers and tennis star Iga Swiatek.

The 18-time Grand Slam winner voiced concerns about the agency’s approach to testing, pointing out that innocent athletes are often caught up in doping investigations due to minor substances like massage creams or sleeping pills. “You’re guilty until proven innocent,” she remarked.

Navratilova’s comments came after the revelation that Sinner, the world No. 1 contender, was subjected to an appeal over his doping case despite believing the issue was resolved. The tennis veteran questioned the logic behind WADA’s persistent pursuit, calling for greater transparency and clarity in the agency’s processes.
