Juan Martin Del Potro had what he defined the best week of his life.
The Argentine has been struggling for years with injuries to both wrists, and it seems he could never be able to play at top levels. Eventually, Delpo has found some of his vintage tennis in the Olympics in Rio where he upset Novak Djokovic, and he defeated Rafael Nadal before losing to Andy Murray in the final. This run allowed Juan Martin to win a (very emotional) silver medal for Argentina, and the entire country was utterly taken by the heart that Del Potro put in his quest.
10,000 people
Back to his home city, Tandil, Juan Martin was celebrated by 10,000. Delpo tweeted (translated) “Another unforgettable emotion. Thanks, Tandil”.
Super.
