Following her announcement as the new ambassador for the luxury brand Dior—a position previously occupied by Emma Raducanu—Zheng Qinwen expressed her excitement. After Raducanu attended a James Bond movie premiere wearing a silver gown from the brand’s resort collection with a Grecian theme, she was appointed a Dior ambassador in 2022.
On Thursday, January 9, Zheng was named the new ambassador. A day later, she spoke about her recent partnership at a press conference in Melbourne.
She talked about it and said: “Well, I think it’s my pleasure to have Dior with me. Since I was 16 years old, Dior has been one of my favorite brands, really. I had a nice shooting experience with them. When the picture comes up, actually I am the most happy one. Say, those were good pictures; I love them (smiling). Yeah, when you have sponsors like this, I think you need to make sure you also have the correct behavior inside and outside the court ’cause you want to match with those high brands. For me, Dior is a very, very high brand; everybody knows.”
Zheng conveyed her appreciation, stating that being selected by Dior out of so many Olympic champions was an honor. Last year, the 22-year-old Chinese athlete became the first Asian tennis player to win a gold medal in the singles competition at the Olympics in Paris.
Fans were overjoyed after learning Qinwen became Dior’s new global ambassador. One fan wrote: “Absolutely gorgeous.”
