On the eve of his comeback to Grand Slam tennis, Nick Kyrgios has suffered yet another injury.
In preparation for his first Australian Open since 2022, the former world No. 13 from Australia was scheduled to play Novak Djokovic in an exhibition match on Thursday. However, he has withdrawn because of an abdominal injury.
In response to Djokovic’s startling allegation that he was poisoned while being held captive in Australia three years ago, Kyrgios has defended the Serb. Conversations surrounding Djokovic’s contentious deportation ahead of the 2022 Australian Open have been rekindled by his accusations, which were made public in a recent interview with GQ.
Recently, Kyrgios was seen meeting with Djokovic in an alley, and fans had different views about it. One fan wrote: “God, he’s such a tool. Has to try and stay relevant by interrupting Novak’s conversation.”
