Novak Djokovic dispatches Humbert in the 4th round in London

LONDON. Djokovic downs Humbert to come up against David Goffin in the quarter

Novak Djokovic defeats Ugo Humbert 6-3 6-2 6-3 in the 4th round in London on Monday. Djokovic will fight against David Goffin in the quarter.

Score, report, and key facts

1st set.

Both players managed to hold their serve for the entire set. The only difference was just 1 break that Novak conquered in the 4th game (3-1) before winning the set (6-3).

2nd set.

The Serbian in this set didn’t concede much to Ugo and eventually he won 6-2 after breaking Ugo in the 3rd (2-1) and in the 7th (5-2) game.

3rd set.

The Serbian won the set after he broke the French Player in the 7th (4-3) and in the 9th (6-3) game. That break defined the set and it was sufficient for Novak to conquer the set because he didn’t concede his serve during the rest of the set.

Ugo lost the 9th game (6-3) when he had 3 consecutive game points when leading 40-0.

Humbert was not able to offer any resistance in the last 4 games of the set (from 2-3 to 6-3)

At the end of the match, the Serbian scored 91 points vs. the French Player’s 60 points.

Djokovic served exceptionally well to win 78% of the points (36/46) behind his first serve, and he won 80% points (16/20) on his second serve. The Serbian was pretty focused in converting 56% of the break points that he conquered (5/9). On the other side, Humbert wasn’t able to conquer any break point. That was one of the key issues for his defeat.

After this contest, the head to head between Djokovic and Humbert is 1-0 for Novak.
