Halep had a head start at the beginning of the set to break Gauff in the 1^st game (1-0). Yet, there was more to do for Halep to win the set because Cori managed to break back in the 2^nd (1-1) game. The Romanian maintained her cool to break the American in the 5^th (3-2) and in the 9^th (6-3) game.

2^nd set.

Halep started the set in the best possible way after breaking Gauff in the 2^nd game (2-0). Anyhow, the set was not over yet and there was more work to do for Halep to win the set since Cori succeeded in breaking back in the 3^rd (1-2) game. Simona kept her cool to break Gauff in the 6^th (4-2) game before winning the set (6-3).
