Alison Riske surprises Ashleigh Barty 3-6 6-2 6-3 in the 4th round in London on Monday to pull out a huge upset. Riske will fight against Serena Williams.

Score, report, and key facts

1st set.

Barty won the set after she broke Alison in the 4th (3-1) and in the 8th (5-3) game. Riske tried to stage a comeback breaking in the 7th (4-3) game. Nonetheless, Ashleigh refused to give way before winning the set 6-3.

2nd set.

Riske in this set didn’t concede much to Barty and therefore she won 6-2 after breaking Barty in the 4th (3-1) and in the 8th (6-2) game.

3rd set.

Both players managed to hold their serve for the entire set. The only difference was just 1 break that Riske conquered in the 8th game (5-3) before winning the set (6-3).

At the end of the match, the American scored 82 points vs. Barty’s 73 points.

The American was fantastic in converting all the break points (4/4). On the other side, the Australian wasn’t that great in converting her break points as she converted only 40% of her break points (2/5). That was one of the key issues for her defeat.
