Nick Kyrgios Criticizes Jannik Sinner’s Team Over Doping Scandal, Calls Critics “potatoes”

Nick Kyrgios has strongly criticized Jannik Sinner and his team following the doping controversy involving Sinner’s physio, Giacomo Naldi. The scandal erupted after Naldi reportedly used a contaminated spray on himself before giving Sinner a bare-handed massage, inadvertently causing a doping violation in March. The spray, containing clostebol, was allegedly purchased by Sinner’s trainer, Umberto Ferrara.

While both Naldi and Ferrara faced backlash and were later dismissed, Kyrgios questioned the delay in Sinner’s decision to part ways with them. He argued that such negligence from a professional team was unacceptable, saying, “Why did they wait five to six months to do anything about it? That doesn’t make sense.”

In response to critics defending Sinner’s team, Kyrgios labeled them “potatoes” and stated his own team would have resigned immediately if they caused such an incident. He further condemned the situation as “horrible” and “disgusting” for the sport of tennis, expressing disbelief over the handling of the matter.
