Nick Kyrgios wins his 2nd career title in Atlanta.
The young Australian has opted out the Rio Olympics to decide to play in Atlanta and in a way this has worked out pretty well.
Nick defeated John Isner in the final with a double breaker in a match that was completely dominated by the serve. Both players haven’t conceded a single break, and they both blasted 18 aces each. The encounter ended 7-6 (3) 7-6 (4) in just 1 hour and 47 minutes.
This is Kyrgios’ second career title after he won Marseille this year.
I didn’t play well this week. KYRGIOS
Nick was happy to win the title even if he conceded that he didn’t play his best tennis
“In Marseille, I was unbeatable. This week was completely different. I wasn’t playing well at all at the start of the week. I wasn’t in a good space at all. Some things just fell my way. Today, I found the right balance. I was competing and had some fun.”
Isner has won Atlanta in the last three years, and he reached the final in 2010 and 2011.
