Four brand-new padel courts have been added to Brighton and Hove as part of the exciting Hove Beach Park development. These courts are run by Game4Padel, the top padel operator in the UK, and they began accepting reservations on December 27, 2024.

Padel is a rapidly expanding sport that blends aspects of squash and tennis and is played in more than 130 countries. For devotees, the inclusion of these courts is a major development, given there are now just 500 padel courts in the UK.

The new courts are a component of a larger restoration project that aims to bring life to West Hove’s underutilized waterfront. A variety of sports and recreational amenities, including tennis courts, bowls, croquet, skating, skateboarding, BMX, and sand sports, are part of the project. The park will formally open in the spring of 2025.

Game4Padel is holding an open day on January 11, 2025, to commemorate the launch. Free introductory sessions will be available from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This event is a great chance for current players to check out the new facilities and for novices to try out the sport.

“I’m sure these exciting new facilities will be really popular,” said Councillor Julie Cattell, the council’s lead member for large projects, who expressed her delight over the new courts. “Padel is a fast-growing sport.” Michael Gradon, CEO of Game4Padel, said, “We have built a thriving padel community at Withdean and look forward to welcoming some of those players down here, as well as introducing a whole new community to this fun, inclusive, and highly sociable sport.”
