Good news for tennis as nextgen Nick Kyrgios and Reilly Opelka reach the semifinals in Atlanta.
Kyrgios
Nick wins an extremely complicated match against Fernando Verdasco 6-4 6-7(4) 6-3. Nick wasted a 4-2 lead in the 2nd set breaker, but eventually a strong start in the decider (3-0) helped him to win the match. Nick will face the world no.97 Nishioka in the semifinal. They have never played each other so far.
Opelka
6’11’ Reily Opelka is having a dream week in Atlanta after reaching the semifinal. The American had a breakthrough win in the 2nd round after he defeated Kevin Anderson, and he repeated himself in the quarters to beat Donald Young 6-4 6-4. Opelka will face John Isner in the semifinal.
