One of the biggest blow of Nadal’s career was when he had to renounce to represent Spain as the flag-bearer at the Olympic in London. The Spanish Legend had to withdraw because of an injury.

Four years later, Rafa was about to face the same nightmare after he was sidelined by a wrist injury in May just before the Olympics in Rio where he was chosen again to be the flag-bearer. Eventually, the world no.5 recovered and he finally had his “magic night” at the opening ceremony in Rio de Janeiro.

Proud to represent Spain

An extremely emotional Nadal tweeted “Un orgullo poder representar a #España en #Rio2016!! Proud to represent #Spain in #Rio2016!! “

Nadal will participate in all events (singles, doubles, and mixed). In singles, Rafa will start his campaign against Federico Delbonis.
