Andrea Petkovic has offered an intriguing prediction about Novak Djokovic’s future as he heads into the 2025 tennis season. Djokovic, currently tied with Margaret Court on 24 Grand Slam titles, will look to make history with a potential 25th Grand Slam victory, specifically aiming for an 11th Australian Open title, further cementing his legacy as one of the sport’s all-time greats.
On The Rennae Stubbs Tennis Podcast, Petkovic shared her thoughts on Djokovic’s motivations, saying, “My prediction for Novak next year is that he will not give a flying f about any of the tournaments apart from the Australian Open and Wimbledon. He will make a huge push with everything he has left.” She emphasized that Djokovic’s singular focus would be on adding another Grand Slam victory before potentially calling it a career.
Stubbs echoed Petkovic’s sentiments, adding that if Djokovic does capture another Australian Open title, it would be the perfect way for him to close out his storied career: “If he wins the Australian Open, I would like him to drop the mic and say I have been to Australia for 20 years and now I am going to take my whole family on holiday and see the country.”
