Three-time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka has been awarded a wild card entry for the 2025 Australian Open. The Swiss player, who first won the Australian Open in 2014, expressed his gratitude and excitement for the opportunity to return to Melbourne Park.

Currently the world no.161, the Swiss played his last match on the 5th of November when he lost to world no.115 Laslo Djere 6-4 6-4 in the 1st round in Belgrade (draw).

Until now, during this year the Swiss has achieved an overall 12-20 match record. Stan Wawrinka’s best achievement of the year was getting to the semifinal in Stockholm.
