Jannik Sinner’s 2024 season was a career-defining year, marked by his ascent to World No. 1, two Grand Slam titles, and a year-end No. 1 ranking. Despite his immense success, the Italian star named his quarterfinal loss to Daniil Medvedev at Wimbledon as his biggest regret, rather than the doping controversy that shadowed part of his season.

Reflecting on Wimbledon, Sinner admitted, “If I look back, Wimbledon is the tournament where I left the most regrets. I had played very well until the match with Medvedev… Our sport is unpredictable.”

Sinner’s season was also disrupted by a positive doping test at Indian Wells, leading to an extended investigation. Cleared initially by the International Tennis Integrity Agency, the case remains under appeal by the World Anti-Doping Agency.

Off the court, Sinner enjoyed time with family and participated in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix as a Formula 1 ambassador. The experience included meeting Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and four-time World Champion Max Verstappen, with whom he discussed the importance of balancing professional achievements with personal life.

As Sinner gears up for another season, his focus remains on improving his game while learning from the highs and lows of 2024.
