Cori “Coco” Gauff is fast emerging as the next star player in women’s tennis. She’s having a golden run in Wimbledon as of yet. She had her first main draw appearance at the prestigious All England Lawn Tennis Club at Wimbledon 4 days ago and that too against another prodigy, 39-year-old Venus Williams whom she defeated 6-4 6-4 and collapsed on the grass court overwhelmed by emotions. “Honestly I don’t really know how to feel,” Gauff said.”This is the first time I have ever cried after winning.”
Cori Gauff’s family
Cori “Coco” Gauff was born on March 13, 2004, in Atlanta, Georgia. She’s the youngest player to have qualified for the main draw of Wimbledon at the age of 15 years and 122 days since the era of sport’s professional began in 1968. She does have sports in her blood as she comes from a line of sportspersons in her family. Her father was a collegiate basketball player for Georgia State and her mother Candi was a track star who won five-time high school championship in the heptathlon. Gauff created history in 2017 when she qualified for the US Open girls final at the age of 13. She turned professional in 2018 and won the French Open girls as well as US Open girls’ doubles title alongside Caty McNally whom she defeated in French Open girls finals.
Does Gauff have a boyfriend?
There are no reports that Cori has a stable boyfriend. At her young age, she is probably focusing on tennis. Serena’s coach Patrick Mouratoglou has trained Gauff and said: “She is fantastic. She can become a top, top player. I believe in her a lot.” I think we all believe in her after this extraordinary feat.
