Matteo Berrettini is set to kick off his 2025 season at the Brisbane International, marking his debut at the ATP 250 tournament. Reflecting on his past experience in Brisbane during the United Cup, the Italian expressed enthusiasm for returning to the city’s passionate tennis fans.
“I have heard great things about the Brisbane International from other players,” said Berrettini. “The atmosphere is incredible, and the fans truly love their tennis.”
Berrettini concluded 2024 on a high note, claiming three titles and playing a pivotal role in Italy’s Davis Cup triumph. Hoping to carry this momentum forward, the World No.12 looks forward to a strong start in Queensland while exploring the local offerings.

Tournament Director Cameron Pearson welcomed Berrettini to the lineup, praising his addition as a boost for the event’s competitive field.

Currently ranked no.35, Matteo played his last match on the 24th of November when he defeated world no.80 Botic Van De Zandschulp 6-4 6-2 in the Rubber 1 of the Davis Cup (draw).
Until now, during this year Matteo has achieved a compiled 36-13 match record. Berrettini conquered 3 titles in 2024 in Marrakech, Gstaad and Kitzbuhel. Berrettini reached the final in the Phoenix Challenger and Stuttgart.
