In his hometown Mallorca, Rafael Nadal played in the FGB Hexagonal Golf Circuit at the Club de Golf Son Servera. Nadal finished in the top 10 at the golf tournament just a few days after he announced his retirement from tennis.
Spain was eliminated from the Davis Cup on November 19, after losing to the Netherlands in the quarterfinals. In his final singles match, Nadal faced Botic van de Zandschulp, but the Spaniard lost in straight sets.
Although Nadal’s remarkable tennis career came to an end, he continued to play golf on November 23, when he represented the Rafa Nadal Academy at the FGB Hexagonal Golf Circuit.
Nadal was in the lead at one point, but he lost it and ended up eighth out of 76 players. The 38-year-old made two birdie strokes on the par-5 holes 9 and 16 and another on the par-3 hole 3, completing the difficult Son Servera golf course. Fourth place went to the Rafa Nadal Academy, and the top five were completed by Ejusan Ecologic B.
