With three Masters titles, two Grand Slam victories, and the Nitto ATP Finals, Sinner has had an incredible 2024. In addition, he rose to the top of the world rankings and finished the season by winning the Davis Cup with Italy.
Mouratoglou, the former coach of Serena Williams, who is now coaching Naomi Osaka, told Tennis Majors. He said: “I think it makes sense to call him Djokovic 2.0 because [his] movement and counterpunching are unbelievable. Same qualities as Novak, and I think he added 2.0 because he is playing faster by taking the balls earlier. He is moving up all the time.”
In the rankings, Sinner ended the year nearly 4,000 points ahead of Alexander Zverev, the second-ranked player in the world. In a single season, he became the first player to win the Davis Cup, the Nitto ATP Finals, and two Grand Slams.
