The first Inter Club Cup, a ground-breaking addition to the 2025 USPA Tournament Calendar, has been announced by the United States Padel Association (USPA). This exciting new inter-club competition, which will take place indoors at U-Padel in Magnolia, Texas, from January 24 to 26, 2025, encourages USPA member clubs to send teams to compete in a manner similar to the world championships.
An important turning point for padel in the US is the Inter Club Cup, which promotes teamwork, friendship, and competitive prowess. Martin Sweeney, president of the USPA, conveyed his enthusiasm by saying,
“This will be the first event of its kind for the USPA and will bring players across various levels of ability to represent their club. The tournament will use a player’s WPR to ensure fair competition, and it will be exciting to see players competing as a team against other clubs.”

Divisions: Men’s and Women’s (Co-ed teams may enter the men’s division)
Entry Fee: $600 per team
Team Size: Minimum of six players, maximum of eight (clubs may enter multiple teams)
Format: Round-robin matches leading to playoffs and finals
To ensure fair and equitable competition, the USPA has made the World Padel ranking (WPR) its official player ranking system. Three doubles matches will be played across Lines 1, 2, and 3 in each club-versus-club match, with players assigned according to their WPR. Teams will participate on Friday and Saturday mornings in three rounds of group play. The finals are held on Sunday morning after the playoffs on Saturday afternoon.
Clubs interested in taking part in this historic event must register by email at [email protected] by December 13, 2024. Team rosters are subject to change through January 17, 2025.

There will be both men’s and women’s divisions in the competition, and coed teams are allowed to compete in the men’s division. Round-robin play will pit each team against at least four other clubs in three pairs per match, with semi-finals and finals to follow. Teams may have up to eight players to accommodate substitutes, and clubs may enter multiple teams.
While it is not required, the USPA encourages clubs to bring both men’s and women’s teams. Clubs of all sizes can compete thanks to this adaptable format. To register or express interest, clubs can send an email to [email protected]. Registration will close on December 13, 2024.
